PhD Title & Abstract:

Essays in Corporate Finance: a Behavioural Perspective

Behavioural finance is playing an increasingly important role in explaining questions that are unsolved within the traditional finance framework, especially in asset pricing. However, from the prospective of corporate finance, the prevalence of behavioural finance is less common. The objective of this project is to explore how to use behavioural finance methods and ideas to model problems in corporate finance, especially in payout policy. This project will try to explain the puzzle of increasing stock repurchase over the past decades by integrating behavioural finance with dynamic models.
