Scott B. Guernsey

Scott Guernsey was a Research Associate at Cambridge Endowment for Research in Finance (CERF) and Cambridge Centre for Finance (CCFin) from 2018 - 2020.

While at CERF, Guernsey's researchs interests focussed on empirical corporate finance, corporate governance, innovation, competition, law and finance, and capital structure.

BA, MBA, BS (University of New Mexico), PhD (University of Oklahoma)

Scott is a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Cambridge's Judge Business School. He recently accepted an advisory editor position with the Review of Financial Studies, which begins in August. His research interests focus on empirical corporate finance, corporate governance, innovation, competition, law and finance, and capital structure. Scott’s research has been on several high-quality conference programs including the Adam Smith Corporate Finance Workshop, the American Finance Association Annual Meeting, the NBER Law and Economics Meeting, the North American SFS Cavalcade (x2), and the Paris December Finance Meeting. His papers have been listed in several of SSRN's eJournal Top Ten download lists and he is in the top 10% of authors on SSRN by total new downloads within the last 12 months. Scott completed his Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Oklahoma and his dissertation committee was comprised of Lubomir Litov (co-Chair), William Megginson (co-Chair), Martijn Cremers, Scott Linn, and Wayne Thomas. His research is outlined below.
