The CERF scholarship 2015 was awarded to Emile-Alexandre Marin (Faculty of Economics)

For the third year running, CERF scholarship competition took place and  was awarded to Emile-Alexandre Marin (Faculty of Economics).

Title and abstract of Emile's research:

Time Varying, Directional Connectedness of Bond Markets in Europe; a Focus on the 2007 Recession

I aim to map a network of European bond markets and identify the unique properties of each market. I can critically evaluate the causes of the progression of the 2007 recession. In this framework, I will also be able to identify the importance of access to capital markets of countries facing default risk and the contribution of this to stability of the system as a whole. Furthermore, I can analyse the effectiveness of policy at European and country level, identifying benefits of policy coordination. Finally, I will be able to identify the contribution of firm level networks to the aggregate.
